Register for the Brooklyn Blades - Program Descriptions

Please carefully read the program descriptions before registering — they list the cost and the amount of time you should expect to commit. It's important to register early for our programs: they're popular and fill quickly. Each season we have disappointed parents, children and adult players who registered too late to obtain a spot on our roster.

Please also make sure to read the fine print. Then click on "Register Now!" to continue your online registration.

Please note:
• Except where otherwise specified, programs are held at the
Kate Wollman Skating Rink in Prospect Park, Brooklyn.
• Class fees and schedules shown represent the 2003-2004 season.

Women's Travel Team (Levels A and B)
Ages: Female players 14 years of age and older
Experience Needed: at least 1 year of Skills Clinic or the equivalent (B Team); at least 3 years competitive play (A Team)
Practices Held: Abe Stark
Games Held: Tri-State area
Fee: $750

Travel team for girls and women. Our A Team is the top female team in New York City: many players skated for their collegiate varsity or club teams. Both teams play approximately 16-18 games/practices, and end the season at the world's largest women's ice hockey tournament (held in Brampton, Ontario each April). If you don't own a car, don't worry: the travel teams have a carpool network and no one has ever missed a game because she could not find a ride. Please note that the fee includes a Brooklyn Blades "home" uniform (jersey/socks), but does not include the "away" jersey/socks or the cost of traveling to and from games and practices. The program runs from late September through April. The Women's Travel Team is our most popular program, so sign up early if you want to ensure a spot (team size is limited). Decisions regarding player placement on the A or B teams are made by the coaches and are final.

The Fine Print
We also offer equipment and tuition scholarships. These scholarships are available to individuals who have a strong desire and commitment to play, but cannot afford the equipment or fees. If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please email info@brooklynblades.org.

Last season's participants have their places held until August 1, 2003. After that date, their registrations are accepted on a first-come basis with all new registrants. The waiting list for new players is ranked by registration date. Deposits are refundable until September 1, 2003.

Program schedules are not final until 2003-2004 season ice contracts are signed at the end of the summer. Many of our programs have been held at the same day and time for several years, but this could possibly change based on ice availability. If a program time changes from that which is posted here, you will be eligible for a refund if you can not attend at your desired program at the new time.
